FAFSA at NOBTS

About the FAFSA at NOBTS

NOBTS is now approved to accept Federal Pell Grants from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE). Federal Pell Grants are need-based awards for degree-seeking undergraduate students who display exceptional financial need and who have not earned a bachelor's, graduate, or professional degree. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens to apply.

Students can apply for the Pell Grant by completing the DOE's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and selecting New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as one of their schools of choice (School Code: G02019). The DOE will then provide students' eligibility information to NOBTS.

Students must continue to make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to maintain Pell Grant eligibility.

Students may also be be required to submit verification documentation if requested by the Department of Education. Failure to submit the requested document will result in the loss of the award.

The 23-24 FAFSA is currently open, and undergraduate students who have attended or plan to attend NOBTS during any part of the 23-24 award year may be eligible. This means that if you attended classes in the Fall 23 semester, you may even be eligible for Pell Grant funds for the classes you took this semester. We encourage you to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible to see if you are eligible.

The 24-25 FAFSA is scheduled to open in December 2023.

NOBTS does not accept any federal student loans from the U.S. Department of Education.
